Many radio amateurs enjoy Parks On the Air and Summits On the Air (OTA/SOTA) operations. These field operations allow you to practice emergency communications procedures without running into deed restrictions or nosey neighbors.
There are many antenna choices available for POTA/SOTA operations.
In this video from "HAM-DALORIAN", we see an actual POTA station set up, including rig, antenna, and accessories needed for the activity.
The star attraction in this operation is the excellent TN07-SPF-102 portable antenna system. The antenna is easy to assemble and deploy. The results are quite good, considering its limited size.
The antenna will find a welcome home for hams living on small urban lots or faced with HOA restrictions.

Here are some comments from "HAM-DALORIAN":
Join us for a Parks on the Air (POTA) activation at the beautiful Starved Rock State Park in Illinois! In this video, we're putting a unique HF portable antenna to the test: the TN07 SPF-102. Is this the best ham radio antenna for POTA? We're about to find out!
The TN07 SPF-102 is an interesting take on a portable antenna. Marketed as a "pota antenna supreme" and a stealth flagpole, this vertical antenna system promises easy setup and multi-band operation without the need for a complex radial system. It's a fantastic solution for hams looking for a portable antenna that can be deployed quickly and efficiently, especially in parks with antenna restrictions.
We'll walk you through the full Parks on the Air ham radio experience—from setting up the antenna mast and getting our portable ham radio station on the air to making contacts and bagging some much-needed POTA points. We'll show you exactly how this wire-contained antenna hack for POTA works and share our honest product review and antenna review of the SPF-102.
Whether you're a beginner looking for your first hf antenna or a seasoned portable operator, this video will give you a close look at a different kind of portable antenna and its performance in a real-world POTA activation. Let us know in the comments what you think of this no-radial antenna setup!

This video reviews a TN07 SPF-102 portable HF antenna during a Parks on the Air activation at Starved Rock State Park. The presenter demonstrates the antenna's setup, highlighting its unique wire-inside-mast design and ease of use. Watch to see if this "stealth flagpole" performs as advertised.
If you want to experiment with unconventional antenna designs, please consider adapting US military HF antennas. These antennas are easy to build and perform well on several amateur radio bands. In this video, Walt (K4OGO) builds a Terminated End Fed V Antenna (TEFV). The antenna is broad banded, requires no antenna "tuner", and covers frequencies from 1.8 to 30 MHz. Here's another way to operate your ham radio station without nosy neighbors complaining about the visual impact of your current antenna system. In this video, Danny (KD5W) shows us how to use your property fence as super stealth HF antenna. You can find most of your materials at the nearest hardware or building supply outlet. Many operators call this project a "Fencetenna"--something you may wish to use if no other antenna design is available. Thanks to John (W5ODJ) for this variation of the popular Off-Center-Fed Dipole Antenna (OCF). The antenna is easy to build and uses a 4:1 balun to cover the 80m, 40m, 20m, and 10m Amateur Radio bands. Views expressed in this article are those of John (W5ODJ). Thanks for joining us today. There is a video attached at the bottom of this post. Aloha es 73 de Russ (KH6JRM). --------------- Building an off-center fed (OCF) Dipole This type of antenna is a popular antenna design as the performance is very good across the HF bands and requires little or no tuning . It’s a dipole fed off center with a 4:1 balun at the offset feed point. The antenna shown covers 80, 40, 20 and 10 meters. The formula can also be used to adjust the overall length to cover more or fewer bands and the resulting overall length. ...
