Coat Hanger 10m Vertical Antenna

  Radio amateurs have used all kinds of materials to build their antennas--from aluminum step ladders to metal downspouts from their roofs. In this video, Scott Fridley (WX0N) makes a functional 10 meter band vertical antenna from an old metal coat hanger.  The SWR is bad and the antenna is way too short, but he makes contacts. Scott shows how he made this seriously compromised antenna and how it works in "the real world."
