Transmitting on Cold War Nuclear Missile Base Antenna

Image
In this video, we join Chuck and Kevin as they set up and operate their ham radio station at the Titan Missile Museum.  The antenna is a "classic" Collins conical skirt HF antenna that was designed for defense communications during the Cold War. Although the walk-through tour is interesting, the historic Collins gear and antenna are a genuine treat.  Enjoy the visit! Here are some comments from Kevin and Chuck: n this video I take my ham radio setup to the Titan Missile Museum and operate on the original Cold War Collins HF antenna used with a real nuclear missile site. If you’re into ham radio, Cold War history, or unusual HF operating locations, you’ll love this one. Video Tour by Kevin with Chuck -     • Ham Radio - The giant Collins HF discone a...   Mus...
