Amazing cheap multiband Delta Loop Horizontal Antenna

Image
If you need a cheap, effective multiband HF antenna, please consider this Delta Loop design from Callum (M0MCX). This easily-made antenna covers amateur radio bands from 40m through 10m. The video discusses the "unique" properties of loop antennas and how to build and test them. Delta Loops are "quiet" receive antennas and can scaled for any amateur radio band.  A simple 4:1 Unun enables multiband use. Here are some comments from Callum (M0MCX): I am about to install a Multi-Band loop which will be resonant on 40m, 20m, 15m and 10m. It needs a 4:1 balun - but other than this balun, this is cheap to build and is well within the possibilities of many small ham radio stations. It will give me some TX and RX gain on the higher bands and it will also be a lovely TX / RX anten...

Ham Radio: Doublet Antenna & Coax.

Image
As you build your "classic" doublet HF antenna, what kind of feedline do you prefer?  Coaxial cable or "LadderLine? In this video, Tim (G5TM) discusses the pros and cons of doublet antenna feedlines.  Although the traditional doublet antenna used a balanced feedline measuring approximately 600 ohms, current designs of this familiar HF antenna can use 450 ohm (ladder line), 300 ohm (television twin lead), and even coaxial cable. Tim does a good job of explaining the capabilities of each feedline, so you can choose the option best suited for your operation.
