Helically wound vertical antenna for 160M

Image
How do you fit a 160 meter band antenna on a small urban lot? If you follow the exact instructions of Bill Salyers (AJ8B) of the Spokane DX Association, all you need is a "helically wound" vertical antenna with a small footprint to get started on the "Top Band." Bill discusses the pros and cons of this compromised antenna while suggesting that this vertical may be a good way to get on the 160 meter band. Just try out this idea--you may be surprised just how well it performs.
