Reliance Inflatable HF Antenna

Image
Thanks to "Rabbit Ham" for this personal review of the fascinating Reliance Inflatable Antenna. Rabbit discusses the set up and limitations of this interesting antenna option as he prepares for his POTA (Parks on the Air) operation. Here are some comments from the "Rabbit Ham": We take a look at the “Inflatenna” by Reliance Antennas. This isn’t meant to be a review just my real-world experience with the antenna, how I set it up, key considerations I found and my Parks on the Air activation with it. Easy Build Multiband Dipole.

Image
If you need a simple, multiband HF antenna, please consider this homebrew dipole antenna from Walt (K4OGO). Walt says he designed his own antenna to fit the requirements of his property.  As built, the antenna covers Amateur Radio bands from 20 meters to 6 meter.  This antenna may be suitable for a variety of urban properties. Walt takes us through the entire design, building, and testing process.  He also provides a list of materials needed to complete the project. How-to: The off center fed L-dipole antenna

Image
Here's another excellent antenna idea for your next "field" operation--the vertical L-Dipole Antenna. In this video, Michael Martens (KB9VBR) shows us how to build a simple, multiband L-Dipole with parts you may already have in your "junk box." You can also order parts from several online vendors. If you build this antenna for the 80 meter Amateur Radio Band, it will be resonant on 80,40, 20, 10, and 6 meter bands.  The antenna used in this project is a bit simpler, focusing on portable operations only. Here are some comments from Michael (KB9VBR): I answer the question: can you elevate the KJ6ER Challenger Antenna? Today I demonstrate the Off Center Fed L-Dipole Antenna.
