Easy Build Multiband Dipole.

Image
If you need a simple, multiband HF antenna, please consider this homebrew dipole antenna from Walt (K4OGO). Walt says he designed his own antenna to fit the requirements of his property.  As built, the antenna covers Amateur Radio bands from 20 meters to 6 meter.  This antenna may be suitable for a variety of urban properties. Walt takes us through the entire design, building, and testing process.  He also provides a list of materials needed to complete the project.   If you live in a deed-restricted home or apartment (HOA, CC&Rs), you may find this antenna idea from Peter Waters (G3OJV) interesting. In this video, Peter discusses the merits of the helically loaded "Empire Antenna."  The lightweight, low footprint antenna is well suited for small urban lots and will not draw attention from your neighbors. Here are some comments from Peter (G3OJV): Antenna restrictions are a major problem for many ham radio operators. Hiding the antenna away can have a big effect on radiation efficiency. Here, Peter G3OJV, describes one method that results in a very effective 20m DX antenna that requires no planning permission. It could get you back on the air so that you can join in the fun once again. Ampro Antennas https://www.hamradiostore.co.uk/amate... ...

Thanks to Mike Hannah (W9XAX) for this simple, inexpensive vertical antenna which covers the 40m, 20m, and 15m amateur radio bands without a tuner. Mike takes us step-by step through the design, construction, testing, and performance phases of this 2-element vertical antenna. If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mahLAFvCbfc. Thanks for joining us today. Russ Roberts (KH6JRM/AL0HA). Here are some comments from Mike (W9XAX): This is a multi-element vertical HF antenna I designed. I have 2 elements on it which will tune up on 40m, 20m, and 15m without a tuner and most others with a tuner. The goal of this project was to be cheap, yet tuned. It accomplished that goal. Hope you enjoy and leave some feedback!!! 73! Subscribe!!! Mike Hannah demonstrates building a DIY vertical HF antenna using PVC pipe for the base and 14-gauge wire elements for 40 and 20 meters.
