Indoor Antennas and RF Safety

Image
Many amateur radio operators, including myself, live in deed-restricted apartments where indoor antennas are the rule, rather than the exception. In this video, Dave Casler (KE0OG) answers a viewer's question about indoor antennas.  Dave addresses several RF safety issues, including placement of counterpoise systems, power output, and potential RFI to neighbors and family. Perhaps the best option for this situation is to operate at QRP levels to minimize RF exposure. Here are some comments from Dave (KE0OG): Wayne, KC3OKD, purchased a MFJ-1622 indoor antenna for his apartment. He is wondering what a safe distance, he and his station should be.
