W9BVX's Helium Balloon Vertical
Do you lack space for full-sized 160 meter band antenna for the ARRL Field Day? In this video, Bob (W9BVX) and a few friends launched a helium balloon supported "Top Band" antenna for a Jamboree On The Air Event. Bob (W9BVX) is well known in the state of Wisconsin for his high altitude pico balloon experiments. In this video, Bob tackles the challenge of 160 meter band operations with an "ideal" antenna for the job. A fascinating experiment for those who have the space, support, and desire to add some effectiveness for the 160 meter amateur radio band.
