Build a vertical dipole antenna for HF radio

Not every dipole antenna requires a radial or counterpoise system.

If you lack the space for a full-sized HF dipole antenna, you can try this vertical dipole design from Walt (K4OGO).

Walt's original antenna was cut for the 20 meter Amateur Radio band, with simple alternations made for the 15 and 10 meter bands.

Performance was excellent on all the above bands despite some severe noise in Walt's location.

This simple, effective antenna is cheap and easy to deploy for both portable and home station use.
