Building a random wire antenna


 

Another simple, inexpensive HF antenna is the popular "Random Wire Antenna."

In this video, Walt (K4OGO) discusses all of the pros and cons of this basic HF antenna.  As long as the length is chosen carefully and a sturdy balun is used, you will have success with this antenna design.

This antenna is ideal for both home station use and field operations such as POTA and SOTA.
