 According to Mike (K8MRD), you can build a "quick, cheap, and easy" antenna for the 10 meter amateur radio band for under $10 dollars.

Most of the materials can be found in your "junk box" or at the nearest hardware store or building supply outlet.

This ultra-simple dipole antenna is suitable for both field and home station use.  The antenna is lightweight and highly portable.
