Two Simple Portable HF Antennas

Here are two portable HF antennas that can be deployed in 5 minutes or less, making them ideal for SOTA/POTA operations or for special field events, such as The ARRL Field Day.

According to Tim (G5TM) a simple end-fed vertical halfwave antenna and a basic Rybakov antenna configured as a sloping vertical will provide excellent service for whatever operating event you have in mind.

These antennas are inexpensive and can be made from readily available materials.

Here are some comments from Tim (G5TM):

Try these examples of getting out for portable HF. Both will get you on the air within 5-minutes and be more efficient than any mobile HF whip antenna. Enjoy your radio! 73
