W9BVX's Helium Balloon Vertical

Do you lack space for full-sized 160 meter band antenna for the ARRL Field Day?

In this video, Bob (W9BVX) and a few friends launched a helium balloon supported "Top Band" antenna for a Jamboree On The Air Event.

Bob (W9BVX) is well known in the state of Wisconsin for his high altitude pico balloon experiments.  In this video, Bob tackles the challenge of 160 meter band operations with an "ideal" antenna for the job.

A fascinating experiment for those who have the space, support, and desire to add some effectiveness for the 160 meter amateur radio band.

Here are some comments from W9BVX and friends:

At the young age of 9, Bob W9BVX, visited an ARRL Field Day site with his dad and saw the most amazing thing; an HF antenna lifted into the air by a helium balloon. Ever since that day, his life's dream was to do the same thing. Watch now as he ticks another item off his 'bucket list'.
